APWA Supports Maintaining Federal Flood Mapping Funds

APWA joined over 20 other organizations, in sending a letter to Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney, requesting the federal government maintain appropriated funding of at least the Fiscal Year 2018 level ($262.5 million) for the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Flood Hazard Mapping and Risk Analysis Program.

The Flood Hazard Mapping and Risk Analysis Program provides FEMA with a tool to identify flood hazards and assess flood risks. Additionally, this creates a necessary partnership with states and communities to provide accurate flood hazard and risk data to aid them in their mitigation actions. To view a copy of the letter, please click here.

Please contact APWA Government Affairs Manager Marty Williams at mwilliams@apwa.net or (202) 218-6732 with any questions.
