APWA National Service Deadline Extended

APWA National Service Deadline Extended

During the March APWA Board of Directors meeting the formation of a new Technical Committee was approved – the Asset Management Committee. To provide individuals with sufficient opportunity to consider and submit a nomination, the deadline for all nominations has been extended one week to March 30. For more information on the new committee and to review the opportunities available in other areas, go to the Nominations webpage. Over 40 positions will be filled with new members who are eager to share their expertise and serve at the national level.

“I want to encourage all who are interested in submitting nominations for national offices to do so. I never dreamed that I could serve at the national level of APWA. The fact that I love my job and what we get to do makes others’ lives better encouraged me to submit. I’m sure many of you are contemplating how you might serve. This form of leadership is one avenue to do so. Being in service to our profession and fellow professionals is very rewarding. Contact me at bmills@germantown-tn.gov if you want to talk about any opportunity.”  – Bo Mills, APWA President 2017-18

APWA staff realize that each person has a limited number of volunteer hours available. We appreciate the dedication of our members when they choose to spend their time in service to their fellow public works professionals through APWA.

Questions regarding the nomination process should be directed to Teresa Hon (thon@apwa.net or 816-595-5224).
